Job duties:

Use product knowledge in Security, VPN, Routing, SD-WAN to provide technical expertise to partners and the customer through technical presentations and product demonstrations (20%)

  • Be a subject matter expert on Versa Networks Products along with Network Security, VPN, IP routing and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Communicate with customers, sales staff, and marketing staff to determine customer needs.
  • Attend Versa Networks product trainings and conferences to keep up with the changes in the products and addition of new features to the products.
  • Research and test new or modified Versa Networks software products to determine performance and interoperability.
  • Prepare Technical presentations on Versa-Networks products and features.
  • Present Technical Presentations to Versa-Networks Partners and Customers over Email, Phone or in person conference.
  • Visit vendors, attend conferences or training sessions, or study technical journals to keep up with changes in the technology.
  • Evaluate network designs to determine whether customer and partner requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide Versa Networks product expertise support to Partners and Customers.

Design, build, or operate network configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, lead installing product evaluations, presenting/training at seminars, and responding to RFP’s and RFI’s. (20%)

  • Develop conceptual, logical, or physical network designs to deploy the Versa Networks products in the customer network.
  • Adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands in Customer Network. Determine specific Versa-specified appliance configurations, such as platforms, hypervisors, software, interfaces and bandwidths to deploy Versa FlexVNF software at Customer branch locations. 
  • Coordinate Versa Networks Solution design activities with designers of customer networks.
  • Develop and implement Versa Networks solutions for customer network problems.
  • Prepare detailed network specifications, including diagrams, charts, equipment configurations, or recommended technologies.
  • Estimate time and Bill of materials needed to complete projects.
  • Develop plans for customer legacy network equipment replacement with the Versa Networks Solution.
  • Participate in Versa Networks Solution deployment projects, including installation of hardware and software and integration testing.
  • Develop and implement solutions for network problems based on the RFP and RFI requirements.
  • Evaluate network designs to determine whether customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Review the RFI/RFPs requirements and Prepare detailed network specifications, including diagrams, charts, equipment configurations, or recommended technologies as part of the RFI/RFP response.
  • Provide Versa Networks Solution Presentations/trainings at seminars.

Bring up Controllers, Gateways and Orchestrators on Cloud Service Providers such as AWS, Azure and VMWare (15%)

  • Interact with Computers/Servers Cloud using Cloud Servers and computer systems (including hardware and software).
  • Work with Customers or Partners over Email or phone to determine the gather the requirements and Network designs.
  • Determine the Cloud Server size such as processor, memory and bandwidth required for the customer Network.
  • Setup up the Customer Accounts to deploy the Versa Networks Software in the Cloud Service providers such as AWS, Azure and VMware.
  • Deploy Versa Networks software such as Versa Director, Versa Analytics, Versa FlexVNF in the cloud Service Providers such as AWS, Azure and VMware.
  • Setup the Security Keys and passwords to secure the access between Cloud and Customer Branch locations.
  • Verify the Network reachability of Controllers, Gateways and Orchestrators to the Branch locations of the Customer network.

Apply principles of computer networking and services to design, develop, test and evaluate networks (15%)

  • Determine the components of the Versa Networks solution required to solve the customer problems or Customer business requirements.
  • Determine the size of the versa Networks solution based on the customer network capacity.
  • Determine the Networking protocols and available WAN connection options for the customer networks.
  • Develop a Versa Networks Solution design to satisfy the customer requirements.
  • Set up a lab or work with test engineers to test the design.
  • Explain Versa Networks solution specifications to integration or test engineers.
  • Test the functionality, scale and performance of the solution.
  • Research and test new or modified hardware or software products to determine performance and interoperability.
  • Evaluate the test results.
  • Develop a detailed design document and present it to the customer.
  • Develop or recommend network security measures, such as firewalls, network security audits, or automated security probes for the customer networks.
  • Develop, write and test procedures for Versa Networks solution installation, use, and troubleshooting of communications hardware or software.

Work with Engineering and Customer Support to assist with the troubleshooting of defects reported by customers or found during in-house release testing in areas of Routing, IPSEC, Network Security and SD-WAN. (15%)

  • Develop, write and test procedures for Versa Networks solution installation, use and
    troubleshooting of hardware or software.
  • Explain Versa Networks customer specific solution to Developers, Test Engineers and Customer Support Engineers.
  • Review the test results with Test Engineers and Customer Support Engineers.
  • Work with Test Engineers and Customer Support Engineers to setup a lab to recreate the problem.
  • Use the Networking expertise in Routing protocols, MPLS, customer WAN options, IPSEC, Network security and SD-WAN to guide Test Engineers and Customer Support Engineers to troubleshoot the issue.
  • Recommend next course of actions for customer Network Engineers to recover the customer network.
  • Deliver and discuss the root cause analysis with the customer.

Develop, present, and respond to Request For Proposals (RFP) for specific customer
requirements, including request for proposal responses and Versa Networks solutions (15%)

  • Test the proposed Versa Networks Solution in the lab.
  • Deliver and discuss the RFP response with the customer.
  • work with Customer to plan and setup a proof of concept of the Versa Networks solution.
  • Determine the materials required for proof of concept.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance of the proof concept.
  • Develop a detailed report at the completion of the proof of concept.
  • Discuss the proof of concept with the customer for the next course of action.

Minimum Educational Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of related work experience.
