A New and Improved Approach
to Building Managed Services

Traditionally, managed network and security service offerings have required a hardware-based approach which can be slow and expensive to deploy, requires proprietary appliances, and are designed around a closed architecture that can be difficultto scale up and/or integrate with third party technologies.

By transitioning from a hardware-based managed service to a software-based and more DevOps-oriented approach, service providers can harness the power of virtualization to provide greater service agility and time-to-revenue, combined with lower capex and opex. To make this transition achievable, Versa has created virtualized network functions (VNFs) in software that run on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware, and that are open and fully programmable.

WHY VERSA?

We’ve been there, and addressed major networking challenges before.

Kuma and Apurva Mehta founded Versa Networks in 2013, building tupon tehir experience at Juniper Networks developing the multi-billion dollar MX series router to address major internet traffic growth. At Versa, they have integrated their deep technical expertise in service provider networks with core innovation around service virtualization and capabilities for simplifying managed services.

The Versa vision. And mission. Via Software.

Versa’s vision is to leverage the rapid advacnes in network virtualiztion, programmability and agile provisioning, and couple them with proven networking technologies to create an integrated and system-level software approach to next genertion WANs and managed services.

Versa’s mission is to address the primary operational and business challenges that service providers and larger enterprises are facing with hardware-based WANs and managed services, and to deliver the true promise of NFV.

Make Your Services Profitable & Agile

system-approach

System Approach = More Services

Versa designed its solutions to maximize versatility (hence Versa) and enable specific VNFs to be deployed on either customer or provider premises.

Providers benefit by building and deploying exactly the services their customers need, and through creating a range of managed service offerings for their different market segments

multi-service-drive

Multi-Service = Richer Offerings

Versa solutions are multi-service and include a wide range of VNFs including routing, VPN, CG-NAT, application identification, stateful and next-gen firewalls, URL filtering and other security services.

Providers leverage Versa’s integrated service chaining to create rich multi-VNF managed services that deliver higher revenue and customer value.

zero-touch-provisioning

Multi-Tenancy = Economies of Scale

Built with integrated multi-tenancy, Versa solutions allow service providers to achieve economies of scale by leveraging each Versa instance deployed at a PoP or data center to provision a managed service for up to hundreds of different end customers and tens of thousands of remotes sites.

multi-service

Zero-Touch Provisioning = Agility

Versa solutions provide true zero-touch provisioning to maximize service provider agility and lower operating costs.

Once a service definition is created, an end customer or service provider team member can log into Versa Director and instantly download and deploy a VNF instance onto a branch-based x86 hardware device (VM-based or bare metal).

Virtual CPE (vCPE)

For creating a managed service with minimal branch infrastructure, Versa VNF-based virtual CPE (vCPE) provides a very flexible and lightweight deployment model.  Connectivity options from branch site to PoP can range from simple Layer 2 forwarding to full routing, and achieved through an on-premises VNF residing on a local server or dedicated low-cost appliance.
